THE CHALLENGE
WiseOceans sought new additions to their retail collection that reflected their marine conservation mission, all while bringing a unique style. They wanted to offer a collection of rash guards, swim shorts, and board shorts that stood out on the beach, in the water, and minimised harm to the environment.

OCEANR collaborated extensively with WiseOceans to develop a fully-customised collection to suit their brand identity and functional needs. WiseOceans shared their passion for marine ecosystems with us and we listened, creating an accurate and colourful reflection of their commitment to educating others about coral reef restoration.

WiseOceans sought an apparel provider that aligned with their commitment to sustainability and marine conservation to supply their boutique in the Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An, Vietnam. OCEANR was delighted to partner with the WiseOceans team and work towards our shared goals of making conscious decisions that actively work towards revitalising our planet’s ocean ecosystems, all while producing premium quality gear capable of comfortably withstanding the local high-UV conditions.
Located along a idyllic coastline, WiseOcean’s Marine Discovery Programme at The Nam Hai, Hoi An was a partnership rooted in a love of the water, much like their subsequent partnership with OCEANR.
At the resort, WiseOceans directly contributes towards boosting guest knowledge and leading education programmes such as snorkelling lessons, reef restoration demonstrations, and a marine kids club.

Customised Designs
The coral-themed rash guards and swim shorts were designed with a blend of conservation awareness and sustainability in mind. This coral-inspired collection was designed and hand-drawn by our team of in-house designers, who collaborated closely with WiseOceans to ensure accuracy. This seamless integration of marine biology and thoughtful design resulted in an eye-catching retail collection.
Eco-Friendly Production
The bulk of our retail collection collaboration with WiseOceans, such as the rash guards, were produced using sublimation printing. This is an eco-friendly method of manufacturing clothing as it does not require water and minimises fabric wastage, thereby doing our bit to reduce the fashion industry’s environmental impact.
Recycled Materials
OCEANR swim shorts utilise recycled mesh, and our Wave Balance fabric that is used in the production of rash guards is created from recycled polyester. Re-using polyester as a core material in our production process forms an essential part of our mission to protect and revive the ocean, as the polyester is removed from circulation.
Shared Values
A key highlight of our partnership with WiseOceans was our shared sustainability mission. We were so excited to collaborate with a marine conservation group with direct experience in other area of expertise — luxury hospitality. It was inspiring to work with a team who dedicate their time to addressing marine protection head-on by offering education and discovery programmes at some of the most prestigious luxury resorts around the globe.
