At OCEANR, sustainability and self-expression go hand in hand. One piece of feedback that we consistently hear from our brand partners is that they love the design process more than anything else — they say it’s a standout element of collaborating with us. It’s little wonder then that our partners completely immerse themselves in the customisation process, and work alongside our in-house Design Team to bring their most creative visions to life on the fabric.

While OCEANR’s mission revolves around creating bespoke apparel using sustainable materials, we understand the importance of branded clothing standing out from the crowd with customised designs. Through our personalised design process, our brand partners take our ethical fabrics and turn them into clothing that is completely their own. And, as we are halfway through the year, we thought we would take it as an opportunity to reflect on some of the designs that have caught our eye during the year so far!

AB Dive Bonaire

Our team had so much fun bringing this vibrant vision to life! Through working on this project, we learned that in the diving world, the crazier your gear is, the better. Colourful, easily-identifiable diving gear can mean the difference between life and death if a diver gets into trouble underwater — so, not only is this design fun, but it’s practical.

The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto

Did you know that our customised apparel also caters to children’s age ranges? Our teams in Cork and Riga absolutely loved these kids swimwear designs — they are so simple but so cute! Featuring autumn leaves and a range of animals from squirrels to deer, these outfits are guaranteed to appeal to children and parents alike.

Four Seasons Los Cabos

These designs stood out to us as a welcome change of pace from our usual ocean-themed imagery! While the saving the ocean is central to what we do, sometimes a completely new setting is a refreshing challenge for our designers. As the background for this resort is the beautiful desert landscapes of Arizona, we worked with their team to reflect the natural environment that they operated in. Not only was this paying homage to their local community but it also helps to differentiate them from other Four Seasons resorts by creating a sense of individuality.

1 Hotel Hanelei Bay

Our team liked the simplicity and effectiveness of this design, which also showcases how easily children’s age ranges can be catered to through swimwear and rash guards. Sometimes one great design with separate colour options is all that you need to appeal to kids and parents! The pattern detailing on the sleeve is also a design aspect which stood out to us — it’s the little details.

WiseOceans

Did you know that we also partner with marine conservation groups, like WiseOceans, who are dedicated to preserving the corals that inhabit our oceans? This was an exciting partnership for our team as WiseOceans contribute a portion of their apparel sales back into their conversation work, and we got to learn all about various species of coral along the way.

Montage Kapalua Bay

We enjoyed creating these designs because there are clever variations on each garment, all while remaining visibly true to the ocean-inspired theme. We loved how the bubble imagery was seamlessly incorporated into the turtle’s shell. Meanwhile on the rash guard, the sea-themed pattern along the sleeves helps it to stand out and remain timeless all at once. These are two pieces of apparel that could be worn beyond the resort itself, potentially providing further brand reach and awareness across the globe.

UL Wolves

We were delighted to collaborate with a local kayak club from the University of Limerick (UL) on designs for high-neck rash guards. The colours that were incorporated into this design were so vibrant — they are sure to help the kayak club stand out on the water!

The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort, Puerto Rico

Taking it back to another collection of kids clothing that caught our eyes this year, our team certainly enjoyed working on this fun selection of swimwear from one of our beachside brand partners. Drawing inspiration from local wildlife and murals featured around the kids area of the Bahia Beach resort, we collaborated on a colourful set of designs that are sure to impress every member of the family. Whoever said that sustainable materials can’t be playful and full of energy?

Looking Ahead

At OCEANR, we recognise that customisation isn’t just about standing out, it’s about connecting. Every piece of clothing that we design in collaboration with our brand partners has a story, a purpose, and a voice. In a world of fast fashion and overproduction, personalised apparel stands out by offering timeless designs.

By using low-impact fabrics, eco-friendly dyes, and made-to-order production, every custom order helps us reduce waste, conserve resources, and keep sustainability stylish. We’re halfway through the year, and the boundless creativity in our production facility hasn’t slowed down. We can’t wait to see what our brand partners — existing and new — dream up next.
