Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are embedded into our values and operations, informing the daily operations of our business. This page, and our policies contained within, outline our efforts to give back to the world as much as it gives to us.
OCEANR is committed to conducting business ethically by holding ourselves accountable and consistently aiming for the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and transparency. We are a Certified B Corporation, which means that we have independently verified to abide by ethical business practices. As with our business pillars of People, Product, Planet, we have centred our Sustainability and CSR policy around our core beliefs.
People
We strive to play a role in shaping our local communities through direct involvement.

Our CSR commitments to our Products:
Ethical Production
We employ ethical production methods where possible, such as using sublimation printing to minimise water usage and material waste. As of 2025, we have saved more than 600 garments from entering landfill through reusing and recycling fabric cut offs.
Digital Product Passport
We are prepared for the implementation of the European Digital Product Passport, and offer a lifecycle analysis on all of our apparel through QR codes. This reveals the environmental impact of each OCEANR product, such as data on carbon footprint, water usage, kilometres travelled, and more, benchmarked against industry norms.
Ethical Fabrics
OCEANR fabrics are GRS, GOTS, OEKO-TEX®, OCS, and PETA-Approved Vegan. Additionally, our cotton products, such as t-shirts, are created from PETA-Approved Vegan and GOTS-certified cotton, meaning it has passed strict ecological and social criteria.
Recycled Polyester
Our polyester products are all created from recycled plastic that would otherwise pollute our oceans, such as plastic bottles and fishing nets. As of 2025, our environmental work and use of recycled plastics has contributed to the equivalent of over 1.5 million plastic bottles being reclaimed from the sea.
Planet
We understand that the apparel industry has a sizeable impact on the environment, and as such, we are actively working to change that attitude.
Our CSR commitments to our Planet:
Removing Ocean Waste
We have committed to funnelling a portion of each OCEANR purchase towards our goal to remove 250,000kg of ocean waste by 2030.
NGO Partnerships
We partner with NGOs across the globe that are actively working to restore our ecosystems, such as planting mangroves with SeaTrees and removing plastic from rivers in Indonesia with Plastic Fischer. We plant more than 3,000 mangroves annually, and we have committed to removing 30,000 kg of plastic waste from rivers by December 2025.
Circular Economy
Where possible, we promote circular economy practices through our Take-Back Programme, where we offer clients the opportunity to return old clothing to our production facility for up-cycling. We repurpose these garments into items like laundry bags and teddy bear stuffing.
Plastic Bottle Calculation
We offer a plastic bottle calculation service to our clients, providing them with insights into the equivalent amount of plastic bottles that their order has prevented from entering the ocean.
Eco-Friendly Shipping
We ship our products in recyclable or biodegradable bags. We are also DHL GoGreen Plus Certified, meaning that we ship our products sustainably, using low emission transport options.
