This week, on Monday, 14th July, OCEANR CEO Tom Cotter was interviewed by Ken Lyons on The Green Room segment of Dublin City FM.
The Green Room is a weekly sustainability-oriented show, hosted by a rotating group of presenters: Megan Best, Ken Lyons, Shannen Healy, and Eibhlin Fitzpatrick.
Society faces an increasingly uncertain future — climate change, biodiversity loss, extreme pollution, rising poverty and inequality — these are the challenges that we collectively face. In response to our challenges, The Green Room argues that we need new thinking and vision. The show serves as a space for creative conversation in a time of disruption, transition and transformation.
Each week, one of the hosts invites a sector leader — be it social enterprise, circular economy, sustainability, arts, music, theatre or food, to look at landscapes through a new lens. Through celebrating their efforts towards social and environmental sustainability, The Green Room aims to inspire individual and collective change.
OCEANR was delighted to receive local recognition for our ongoing efforts to operate an eco-friendly business model. In this episode, you will learn how Tom found himself entering the sustainable apparel industry, and get a sense of the journey OCEANR has been on over the last decade to find itself in a position where it is thriving and actively working to revive our oceans today.
Born out of a passion for the oceans and a desire to merge fashion with sustainability, OCEANR was founded to change the way the world views customised apparel.
Founded in 2016 by three friends with a shared love for the water, OCEANR began with the creation of eco-friendly rash vests under the brand “Rash’R.” This initial success sparked what would become OCEANR’s commitment to crafting sustainable, high-quality apparel, leading to the formation of OCEANR as a global brand focused on eco-conscious clothing solutions.
